International Fasteners Limited, Southam

FSL Projects Limited were employed as Project Manager and Quantity Surveyor to support International Fasteners Limited with the construction of their new 55,000 sq.ft warehouse and processing plant. Works had already commenced and we were required to prepare a cost to complete schedule for the funder.

The project commenced for FSL Projects with the steel frame erected and involved the procurement of various work packages on behalf of IFL, for the completion of the project.  Working in conjunction with the appointed architect, structural engineer and services engineer, FSL Projects managed the overall delivery of the project through to completion.    Planning permission had been secured, but all other statutory authorities and highways were outstanding.  We were able to action this quickly on behalf of the client to ensure approvals were received to enable the works to be completed in time.

Added Value:  FSL Projects added significant value to the project from the outset by implementing a robust structure to the project.  This included formalising the appointment of the design team and ensuring that any gaps in design responsibility had been dealt with.   In tendering the remaining work packages, we were able to save the client money in their approach to the scheme, which had previously been acceptance of one quotation for the work.  Our involvement allowed the client to re-focus their attentions back to their daily business needs and ease the pressure on the delivery of the new unit.

Client Comments: “FSL Projects played a huge role in supporting us with the completion of the new industrial unit.  Without their input, we would have failed to meet our deadline and budget targets.  They provided a calm approach to all situations we faced, and managed the interface with the banks monitoring surveyor”.
