International Fasteners Limited, Southam
Brief -FSL Projects Limited were employed as Project Manager and Quantity Surveyor to support International Fasteners Limited with the construction of their new 55,000 sq.ft warehouse and processing plant. Works had already commenced and we were required to prepare a cost to complete schedule for the funder.
Challenges - The steel frame was second-hand and needed significant alterations to ensure it was suitable for the proposed scheme. Overall, the budget needed to be realigned to ensure the finished product met with the clients aspirations.
Outcomes/Results - The completed scheme met with the clients wishes and whilst over the original budget, savings were made elsewhere to minimise the impact. FSL Projects Limited were instrumental in driving savings from the scheme whilst maintaining the ambitions of the project.
Tame Valley Logistics, Ashby-de-la-Zouch
Brief -FSL Projects Limited provided Bank Monitoring Services on behalf of Barclays Bank. The scheme delivered a warehouse and office accommodation. The 110,000 sq.ft unit was bespoke to Tame Valley Logistics.
Challenges - Overall the project was a huge success and there were only two challenges. Firstly, installation of the warehouse racking presented a few issues with setting out and secondly, the BT installation was fraught with delays which had a significant impact on the operation of the facility.
Outcomes/Results -The services provided by FSL Projects were acknowledged by Barclays Bank to be one of the more competent roles undertaken for the Relationship Director. With clear, unbiased reporting we provided a completee on a monthly basis.
Tom White Waste, Coventry
Brief - To provide Project Management and Quantity Surveying services for a new sprinkler installation at a recycling plant in Coventry. Following the Fund Monitoring role, FSL Projects were appointed to directly manage the project to protect the new recycling plant.
Challenges - Liason with statutory utility providers always carries some risk. Liason was therefore required with the water authority to ensure sufficient capacity was available to fill the sprinkler tank and maintain capacity should a fire break out.
Outcomes/Results - The Project was delivered on time and within budget to provide an extensive sprinkler installation including water monitors and fire reels to deal with minor fires that happen on a regular basis.
